Seedlings Sessions - Familiarisation Visits.
Alton Infant School offers three familiarisation 'Seedlings' sessions during the Summer Term for families and children due to start school in September. Seedlings sessions enable families and children to become very familiar with our school, the Reception classrooms, resources, outside spaces and staff.
Each session offers a wide range of activities for parents and children to choose from together and includes singing and story times.
With Seedlings sessions behind them, parents will have had the best possible start to building a strong partnership between home and school and children start their Reception year confident, excited and ready to have fun!
"The school's care and guidance in terms of children's social and emotional wellbeing is excellent. This starts in the months before children join the school when they attend the weekly 'Seedlings Group' with their parents. At these sessions, children play, interact and find out about school routines and expectations. Parents used words such as 'fantastic' and 'excellent' to describe this provision, noting that, when the time came to start in the Reception class, their children did so smoothly and with great enjoyment."
